Here’s a Missoula oil change question we get asked a lot: “how often should you change your oil?”
It used to be recommended that you change your oil every 2,500 – 3,000 miles. However, today’s newer engines using synthetic and synthetic blend oils are rated to be driven further than the traditional 2,500 – 3,000 before changing.
Of course, the great news is that longer interval oil changes can save you time and money. Unless your car is more than 10 years old, or you’re driving in extreme conditions, changing your oil every 5,000 – 6,000 miles is perfectly acceptable.
Since the Rubber Manufacturers Association and the Tire Industry Association both agree that your tires should be rotated every 5 – 6,000 miles, it makes sense to combine these services into one visit and save yourself some time!
Here at Roemer’s Tire Factory we can save you money, too! When you purchase tires from a Tire Factory store, your tire rotating, flat repairs, and air checks are always free. Many of Roemer’s Tire Factory’s Missoula customers are combining their free tire rotations with an oil change, getting both services done during one appointment.
So next time you hear the question, “how often should you change your oil,” you’ll have the answer. Just give Roemer’s Tire Factory a call to make your appointment. We’ll have you in and out in no time!
